1929 The Byron Nelson Cup

This Cup is in honor of Byron Nelson who would have been just starting his golf career around 1929. Nelson won eleven straight tournaments in 1945 and played in 113 consecutive tournaments during his career. The Olympic Cup is one we've had for several years. A friend who's grandfather won it at the Olympic Club around 1929 loaned the original to me. In 1929 Herbert Hoover a Stanford University graduate was President of the United States. Leo Diegel won the PGA at Hillcrest Country Club. Bobby Jones won the U.S. Open at Winged Foot Golf Club and Walter Hagen won the British Open at Muirfield. In 1929 the United Kingdom won the Ryder Cup matches 7/5. Walter Hagen was the U.S. Captain and the matches were held at Moortown Golf Club in Leeds. This cup is available in four sizes and is one of our more reasonably priced.
