1925 The Jim Barnes Cup

In 1925 Jim Barnes won the British Open at Prestwick Golf Club. Barnes was the first ever PGA Champion in 1916 and won it again in 1919. There was no PGA Championship in 1917 or 1918 due to World War I. He also won the British Open in 1925. I did some work for Cherry Creek Country Club in Denver. I created a very special shadow box for Karen Hart in honor of Ted Hart. Ted attributed his winning the Wyoming Open to the Jimmy Club created by Jim Barnes. Walter Hagen won the PGA Championship in 1925 at Olympia Fields Country Club and Willie Macfarlane won the US Open at Worcester Country Club and Calvin Coolidge was President of the United States. This cup was designed after an antique trophy was loaned to me by a collector friend. The original had golf clubs with over-sized heads. We sized this cup to go with the clubs that fit in our trophy golf bags.
