1927 BOBBY JONES CUP

The Ryder Cup was first held in 1927. Walter Hagen was the Captain for the U.S. team and Ted Ray for the UK. Worcester Country Club in Worchester, Massachusetts was the site. I have named this cup after Jones because this was the time period that Jones started to shine. Jones won the British Open in 1927 and the "Grand Slam" in 1930. Jones never turned pro so he did not compete in the Ryder Cup but was truly the best golfer in the world around 1927. Tommy Armour won the US Open at Oakmont Country Club and Walter Hagen won the PGA Championship at Cedar Crest Country Club and Calvin Coolidge was the 30th President of the United States.
At this time the Ryder Cup is available in one size with the hickory hacker atop it. We intend to make a Monster trophy around 28" tall with our Old Timer golfer at the top of the piece making it very similar to the Ryder Cup.
