The original cup was made in 1865 and was awarded in Canada for outstanding marksmanship. You will notice the Canadian leaves on the bottom of the cup. This Cup was named after the 16th President; Abraham Lincoln; known as "Honest Abe", a fitting tribute to the game of golf. On April 9th Lee surrendered to Grant at Appomattox and the Civil War ended. On April 14, John Wilks Booth assassinated President Lincoln.
